UNITS 8 & 9

1.- WOULD LIKE

Would like

"I would like" o su contracción "I'd like" quieren decir "Me gustaría."

I would like - I'd like
You would like - You'd like
He would like - He'd like
She would like - She'd like
etc.
Would you like ____?

    • Ejemplos:
     ADJETIVOS CORTOS: + ER THAN
    • Juan is faster than Mark. (Juan corre más rápido que Mark.)
    • Angela's room is cleaner than Sue's.
    • I am taller than Beth. (Soy más alto que Beth.)
    • New York is bigger than Los Angeles. (Nueva York es más grandeque Los Angeles.)
ADJETIVOS LARGOS: MORE + ADJETIVO + THAN
    • Juan is more intelligent than Ann

  • Ejemplos:
ADJETIVOS CORTOS: +EST
  • Juan is the fastest. (Juan es el más rápido.)
  • Angela'a room is the cleanest.
  • I am the tallest. (Soy el más alto.)
  • New York is the biggest city in the United States.
ADJETIVOS LARGOS: THE MOST + ADJETIVO
  • He is the most intelligent.

3.- Comparativos de inferioridad e igualdad (solo 6º)
  1. Comparativos de inferioridad. Para formar este tipo de comparación podamos usar las conjunciones "not as...as" or "less...than".
    • Ejemplos:
    • Mark is not as fast as Juan. (Mark no corre tan rápido como Juan.)
    • Sue's room is less clean than Angela's.
    • Beth is not as tall as me. (Beth no es tan alta como yo.)
    • Los Angeles is not as big as New York.
    •
  2. Comparativos de igualidad. Con el adjetivo en el grado positivo, utilizamos la conjunción "as...as" para formar las comparaciones de igualidad.
    • Ejemplos:
    • Mark is as fast as Juan. (Mark corre tan rápido como Juan.)
    • Sue's room is as clean as Angela's.
    • Los Angeles is as big as New York.

Are you eating?
You are not eating.
He/She/It is eating.

Por ejemplo: Estoy comiendo (I'm eating) o, estoy leyendo un libro (I'm reading a book).

Ejemplo 1: I am (I'm) working Yo estoy trabajando. Ejemplo 2: She is (She's)studying  Ella está estudiando. Ejemplo 3. It is (It's) working . Está funcionando. Ejemplo 4: They are (They're) looking  Ellos/Ellas están mirando.

2.- Reglas de Ortografia presente continuo.

Ejemplos: Argue > argu > arguing

Ejemplos: Play > playing / Study > studying

3.- Adverbios y expresiones adverbiales
